The Psychological Health and Wellbeing of Australian Nurses and Midwives.

I am a member of the Tasmanian branch of the Australian Nurses and Midwifery Federation.

As part of my Honours Degree in Psychology at the University of Tasmania, in collaboration with my Supervisor, Associate Professor Kimberley Norris, I am examining the psychological health and wellbeing of  Australian  Nurses and Midwives. Ethics approval has been obtained from the Social Science Human Resource Committee (HREC) number H0017396 for this research.

As a Registered Nurse and Midwife myself, I feel very privileged to be given the opportunity to conduct this vital research!

I have spent most of my career working as a Midwife at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

I completed a Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Tasmania in February 1994, followed by a Graduate Program at the Royal Hobart Hospital. I received a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nursing (Midwifery) with Distinction from Curtin University in 1998, Graduate Diploma In Nursing (family and child health) (UTAS) in 2008 and Master of Clinical Midwifery (UTAS) (2011).

I was hoping that you could support my research by disseminating the attached flyer, with QR link and direct survey link, to your nursing and midwifery staff.  I am very excited about applying psychological knowledge to Nursing and Midwifery. Upon completion of the study I will be very happy to share the results.

I can be contacted on my mobile phone, 0407347472 to discuss this exciting research further.

Yours sincerely,

Louise Gibson
